O Brasil foi a última nação a abolir a escravidão, e não criou políticas públicas para a população preta, ao contrário, foi assim que se inicia o racismo estrutural no Brasil.
Queremos mapear a diversidade da nossa comunidade, para que possamos ter um ambiente cada vez mais plural, sob todos os aspectos: gênero, raça, identidade de gênero, orientação sexual, religião, deficiências e neurodiversidades.
Pedimos que todos preencham o formulário (1 para cada adulto da família) até o final do mês de maio, para que possamos concluir e divulgar esse mapeamento ainda este semestre.
O resultado deste Censo Benjamina será uma ferramenta importante para o trabalho do GT de Diversidade!
No ambiente educacional ou espaços de brincar, como é caso da Benjamina, as crianças dão os primeiros passos para socialização, mergulhando em um mundo além do círculo familiar. É lá que muitas vezes replicam os valores aprendidos em casa, e nos meios que frequentam. Também é nesse ambiente que muitas crianças negras enfrentam o veneno implacável do racismo estrutural, que continua se estruturando através de vieses que reforçam o não pertencimento diariamente.
As mudanças só acontecerão com atitudes, senão, teremos os mesmos resultados colhidos por um período de recorrências discriminatórias e racistas. Devemos dar exemplos concretos para as crianças e adolescentes, enfatizar a diversidade e o respeito diariamente.
Desde sua criação, a comunidade da Benjamina têm buscado olhar com cuidado e intencionalidade para a questão racial, tanto nas relações interraciais, quanto de representatividade, seja de famílias, crianças ou equipe.
Buscamos promover sensibilização e letramento racial de nossa comunidade, ainda majoritariamente branca, por meio de diversas referências significativas, como as aulas de capoeira com nosso mestre @minduim.ababda, trazendo a cultura afro para nossas crianças desde 2019 (!); a Ciranda do Livro, focada na temática racial, apresentando de forma lúdica a cultura negra, através de uma curadoria de autores, ilustradores e personagens negros; letramento e sensibilização racial com a consultoria @nosmulheresnegras, para toda equipe e também todas as famílias da comunidade; além de diversas ações que estão sendo construídas atualmente pelo Grupo de Trabalho Antirracista, composto por representantes das famílias e da equipe, que prevê diversas ações, não só de letramento da comunidade, mas de promoção de um ambiente seguro e acolhedor para todos, para que a representatividade negra possa ser cada dia maior. Entendemos o tamanho do desafio e sabemos que é um caminho de aprendizagem longo e incômodo, mas essencial para formarmos nossas crianças dentro de uma perspectiva mais diversa, inclusiva e humana.
